Tech Preview - 7 segment display

I am in the process of a somewhat larger build, and this is a proof of concept for the display part. It looks kind of cool so I figured I'd post it. It's a mechanical 7 segment display which works by pushing liftarms in and out. This makes it possible to make it relatively compact. Admittedly, if you look at it directly from the front, it is a little difficult to read, but at just a bit of angle it looks rather cool, to my eye at least ;-)

Thanks for the nice words everybody! I won't be making instructions for this but I'll probably do a tech video when the entire thing is done.

wish I had that level of inspiration, I just love to tear things apart and put them back together.

Hi I got a question for you if you have time to reply could you plz?
You know you have LPE using small cylinders either switchless or with switches . Do they have any torque? compared to lego motors and LPE with big cylinders. If not if you make it to v12 will it have enough power for quite big size moc to drift?
I wanna find a way that is more efficient to put power together..
like 4 xl-motors together or having a massive compressor and massive small cylinder LPE

What does the design process look like? Do you draw up plans, or model it in software, or is it all just in your head?

I think I see 1x15s arranged along the length, held in by pegs with spherical ends. But what do the 1x15s attach to?

What did you use to keep the tread pieces on

Can anyone tell how the cylinder is put together? I see a central shaft but I can't tell how what ends of the cylinder are built from.
