SAP2000 !!!! I guess being at UCB, I have a bias for SAP2000... I remember in my design classes, the Chinese student teacher assistants would say "wait you're using risa? Sorry i don't know that too well.." Shows what their ambitions were, because I wanted to take the classes for real practice in the real world. RISA was a bit of a pain at first using it for larger isolated portions of the structure like a 4-story braced frame, but I know how to fix potential problems and have a good idea how errors occur. Plus, I have the finite element framework in my mind from advanced structural analysis to be able to get things right.... but SAP2000 (look up Ashraf Habibullah) is another beast from my experience. It can simulate mode shapes though. So, that's pretty cool, but analyzing mode shapes can get tricky since if you treat a slab as flexible, you need to have engineering judgement on the number of dofs used for the approximation. But yeah man... revit I need to start learning. I know AutoCAD well, but I don't have a computer that has the power to run man i need a job!!!! Lol These goddamn HR ditz man....
