The Technological Horror of Galactic Zone- Fallout 4 Lore

Today, we take a look at Galactic Zone, a park ruled over by murderous robots when we arrive. We learn of the story of Kendell and Tiana Alston, traders who set up here. Upon discovery if an advanced computer system called Star Control, they attempted to use it to defend themselves. However, a malfunction left them all at the mercy of the robots, which is where our story begins. We shall be discussing the Star Cores, and how their removal caused the system to fail. We shall also take a look at the Starlight Interstellar Theater, and the RobCo battlezone, to see how they pitted various Assaultrons and Sentry bots against each other. As well as this, we shall also take a look at Vault-Tec among the stars, an attraction here that held a dark secret, one which harmed every guest, and eventually took the lives of those who worked here. We shall also take a look at the Quantum Power Armor

Hey everyone. Hope you enjoy what is now my longest video to date. As I said in the community post, some feedback on the audio and video would be great. If you want more information, go check it out. As always, any support you can show is really appreciated :)

The Vault Tec Among The Stars location makes me wonder if Vault Tec is still out there on another planet. I mean this was their whole goal, the reason for all the vault experiments. From the looks of the exhibit they obviously had the technology to accomplish this. It would be cool to dive further into this in a future Fallout game or dlc.

Given how medical situations were handled in Safari Zone I think we can assume the person in the first aid station was afraid of being seen as a non-customer without money.

As for Project Cobolt...people were tripping into it and getting "taken care of" fairly frequently. So I would say Cobolt was an open secret. You knew and also knew to pretend you didn't.

If power armor was modified to be sealed, it could be useful as an EVA suit in space, although it would be massive overkill and weigh a ton. Then again, rockets in Fallout are pretty OP

You forgot to mention that the "Startender" was a slightly modified Sentry Bot Nuka World wanted as the theater bartender. Obviously it didn't have any hands to carry the drinks.

So pumped you're covering this location, dude.
Everytime I entered Nuka World whenever going through a fresh file and venture into the wasteland, I always go for the Galactic Zone first.
It's a feckin' blast to go through and the creepy involvement of Vault-Vec as you discover deeper in just makes it all the more intriguing.

I'm pretty sure the Mr Pebbles was an actual event in the Fallout space race.
a bit of npc dialog they added into 76 implies that Mr Pebbles was the first living organism to be launched into space, beating out not only the dogs the USSR launched in 1951 and the monkeys the US launched in 1948, but the fruit flys the US launched with a modified V2 rocket in 1947.

though like most of them it's unlikely Mr Pebbles survived the trip.

Yeah... Definitely thinking that the defense system was set up to defend the park in such a way that there were no friendly human targets...

On the Mr Pebbles: The first cat in space! Poster, theres also one in the wreck of the MS Azalea on the lower levels, where a cat can be found among the raiders, so either it was a very very prominent movie, or they actually did send a cat to space.

Great video!
I just wanted to comment for the Vault-Tec among the stars, when I went through myself my understanding of the Hypnotic Pheromones was it would then influence your ability to resist the hard sales tactic used on the way out to get you to sign up to a vault. If you are affected by the Pheromones to make you more suseptible, you would be a prime candidate for time in a vault!

A note on why the robots went after the Traitors. Systems meant for defense typically need some sort of Identify Friend/Foe feature, either in the form of a signal transmitted by a device on the "Friend" or some sort of image/facial recognition software with a list of people and their pictures. Since this is a theme park, maintaining a list like that to make sure all guests are protected seems unlikely and cumbersome, but not impossible. Either way could be that the system simply would recognize if someone was holding a weapon and attack unless they had one of those IFF devices (like a security guard would have if this is how the system worked). In that case, the robots would identify all the traitors as hostiles since they would probably be armed due to fear of the approaching fight, and none would have an IFF device.

something to consider: the red grade holotape could have absolutely been active. you just wouldn't have even slightly been affected by it, based on what we know. they function on two things, commands given, and the subject's resistance towards that command. The less they want to do it, the more likely it will happen. Now, the first part: what was the last command listed for the scientist? I would assume, it would be Shoot Langley. I also highly doubt anyone would have changed it due to the nukes, and, considering how it works, it shouldn't affect you. after all, you've killed quite a few people by this point, so why would you be unwilling to kill one more?

"Not just people, but Vault-Tec employees as well!"

Man, I thought Vault-Tec thought little of their employees...

"Here, we find a Protectron that has mastered the art of phasing through matter, showing that enlightenment for machines only takes two centuries of meditation." Your straight-faced delivery of that particular absurdity was comedy gold.
Well now see, their first mistake was putting a sentry bot behind the bar. Man's got no thumbs! Shoulda used a Handy, or an assaultron. Granted, the sulta would've been getting hit on by drunk idiots all night, but she can take it - she's an army chick. She'll just emulsify their ulnas, problem solved.
Sounds like an Imperial probe droid more than subliminal messaging. **fart** But what do I know. I tabled seven purple last albatross.
