Great Video! My opener can open the door, however, when it comes to close, the door stops in the middle. Meanwhile, the whole system is out of power for about 5 mins. After that, you can see that the control on the wall is back to power and then I can finish closing the door again. Then I can even open the door too, but not able to close it up (Stuck in the middle again, power gone). Forget the mention that the opener has smoke too! Do you have any idea? Thank you in advance!

Nice job on the video..I wish that was the problem with my old Genie opener. When i push the open/close button, the unit buzzes twice, the lights come on, and that's it.. nothing. If i try to turn the plastic nut (help it) on the screw shaft when i press open, the motor will start running for a few seconds and stop. I guess my motor is shot or bad armature..

Great video. Thanks for posting. I have a different issue with a Genie Powermax 1500. It just quit working, no motion light, no leds on on the photoeyes, etc. There is power to the outlet that it is plugged into. Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve

I loved this clip. I purchased a new start capacitor, installed it and it worked a few times. After a few runs, the door did the same thing, it won’t run a closing cycle now. The new start capacitor doesn’t look blown so what do you think could be the problem? Thank you in advance.

Any idea why my new universal Liftmaster 375UT isn't pairing with my old Genie opener? All the switches match and I've tried every video's advice I can find.


The Genie does work with the wall button.

My Genie unit would not close the door, it acts exactly like your video shows, but the capasitor does not show the blow out like yours does, I have a second Genie opener, moved the capasitor from it and same issue, like its stuck in up mode, when it hits up limit switch motor stops but button press does not make it go down, Safety sensor show solid red and green. Any advise?
