Hair is obviously very important thing in my
life, hair. the around hair hairdressing

So today we are going to look at the vocabulary around hair, hairdressing

basically we got hairdressers which are
for women and sometimes man and we've

got barbers which are specifically for
men I was previously a hairdresser

myself so I'm going to show you some of
my equipment and then I'm going to take

you to a barber shop where earlier today
I had my hair cut as you can see rather

nice ok so let's just start off with the
basic equipment in hairdressing we have

scissors scissors and scissors are one of
those plural nouns they're always plural

like glasses sunglasses like jeans,
scissors plural noun and with scissors we cut

important tool this is a comb, comb these
are clips

these are the main tools for
hairdressing mainly for men and for

short hair these are called clippers and with
clippers we use grades so for you guys

when you going to an English barbershop
we have grades 0,1/2 1 2 3 4 etc and when you

go to the barbershop you say to the Barber
I'd like a 2 at the sides and a 4 on

top for example if you go in and you say
short not too short its too vague

think about clipper size so two and a half
into a 4 into means that they grade

it from a 2.5 into a
3 into a 3.5 into a 4

Clippers grades we also use the i havent got it here now the hair dryer hair dryer

I'll show you that later so I'm gonna
crack on now and we're going to do a

long hair cut featuring my lovely wife
Catherine

so here I am outside razorhead Bournemouths best independent barbershop and

I'm about to go inside and get myself a
haircut

What can we do for you today?.....I just like 0 all over please

yes please so this is Paul and he is going to give me a 0 all over

they do this in grades, they use clippers, which Paul is going to show you in a second.

yeah I'm 0 obviously, being follicly challenged as I am. so ok... we are just going to get on with it.

I hope that was useful and interesting if
you haven't subscribed already please do

so by pressing here and see you next
time

Fabulous video guys! Keep up the good work. I never knew that those combs for the razors were called 'grades' - you've even taught an English teacher something! :D

Is it true that we don't use "The" before "next".
