Interesting talk. I like to hear other peoples opinions. Lots of points I agree with. Mainstream Muslims do not appear in or on mainstream media. They just want to get on with their lives, just like anyone else. In addition, why should you expect someone to represent your religion or culture, just provide a few soundbite morsels for time-starved media consumer.
Not to mention, potentially making yourself the target of hate groups on both sides.

Americans in particular should understand that by trying to influence middle eastern affairs over the past 70+ years (coinciding with big oil finds), they are directly responsible for the trouble that comes their way. The CIA toppled governments in Iran and Iraq, and despite 'promoting' democracy, has been supporting Saudi Arabia for decades.

I also find it amusing, that Donald Trump, has no grasp of war, being a draft dodger, and has little interest other than lining his pockets. None of those 'boots on the ground' come from HIS family.

Very Interesting and eye opening.

I guess I live in a dream world or at least a world that concentrates on electronics, both the practice and study of as well as people who would neve think of hurting another. The thought of a REAL boogy man is not something I spend a lot of time on. Except for the news and of course 9/11, where we lost a lot of fellow Hams as well as other innocent God loving men, women, and children, I seem to have my head burried in the sand. A tiger cannot change his stripes, as it is said and wishing it so is stupid on many levels.

Perhaps all we can hope for and pray for is that there are "good" hidden among the evil and that they will prevail. I hope it is not pipe dream. We have lost too many in the "war on terror" to have it for nothing. The evil portion of the faith, if they are following the true Koran, won't be beaten by normal war.

I certainly don't have the answer, only a hope that the world can change and evil and greed can be defeted one way or the other...

I would like to know how the peaceful Muslim of today can possibly justify "cherry picking" the Koran. It is either the perfect, immutable word of Allah--as  Mohammed claimed--or it is not. It is not difficult to contextualize Mohammad, but is Allah, himself, subject to contextualization?  Do peaceful, cherry picking Muslims  believe that what they pick is what Allah wants of them today? How do they know this for sure? Logically, they must believe that the creator of the universe has changed his mind about Sharia law. Does a deity change his mind to conform to  modern times??

How dare you speak of the true nature of Islam. You almost seem like you have done research to form your own opinions on matters. I am offended. Just kidding! I have read some of the quran and I have read plenty of the bible. People who have actually read these supposed holy texts cannot claim christianity or islam are religions of peace without lying. Religion may have been somewhat of a necessity hundreds and thousands of years ago due to the sheer lack of knowledge about the universe. It seems incredibly counterintuitive dated in this day and age to for people to allow these cancerous institutions to have any sort of impact on their lives. People have asked me, "if you aren't religious, how do you have morals?". By trying to be kind and courteous to those who have somehow found themselves to be sentient beings as well in this unorganized chaotic universe. It can be shown that deriving one's morals from religion is disastrous, hateful, and often times fatal for themselves or others. This only applies to true followers of their respective religions. Born skeptic, raised catholic. Nice video, I wish more people could attempt to gain some perspective.
