In this presentation from HTML5DevConf, StackMob's Sid Maestre will walk you through a series of examples that build on each other to show how the moving parts work together, including adding the StackMob JavaScript SDK to persist your data in the cloud in minutes.

Really great video. It served me as crash course for backbone.
One thing though is that I tried to follow it closely and found an error in the code posted. The 'model' property in a collection has to be completely specified in lowercase. If you write 'Model: Wine' you'll see that Backbone will not convert the inner elements in the collection to the Wine model, i.e. won't get default values or methods defined. You have to write 'model: Wine' in order for it to work properly.

Oh no, you can do a lot to "change it". You can install an extension called NoScript that disables something in your browser that's especially made to open popups. I think it's called JavaScript but I'm not sure. And for my "cloud storage needs" I have an USB drive attached to my keychain. It's amazing because I can carry my data wherever I go with it.

It is as good on iOS as you backboned webcam / sound / gpu control in your iOs browser.

So funny. This is basic school for senor flash-devs. Moreover... it is a bunch of hack-arounds to emulate a decent programming language.
