During the MAC tournament college basketball game between Akron and Kent State, a Kent State player made a brutal mistake when he intentionally fouled Akron after the Golden Flashes had just take a one point lead with under ten seconds to go. Akron was in the bonus and hit both free throws to take a one point lead with under five seconds left. Kent State was unable to score on the final possession and the Zips won 62-61 to win the MAC and clinch a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Imagine you being a senior and it looks like you are gonna finally go to the NCAA tournament but it ends up being your last basketball game because of this.

This is why you can't always blame the coach for everything. Sometimes the players just have mental mistakes that cost you games

This same school's football team once had a player running the wrong way on a kick return

I hope he doesn’t let one split second mistake define who he is. You have a long life ahead of you young man, live it well and that will be who you are.

3rd grade teacher: Julius, what is 59 + 2?
9-year-old Julius Rollins: That's dumb math. I will never need to know that.

Feel awful for the guy.

The one player who forgot the score and fouled at the wrong time that no one remembers? Sam Mitchell. Because it worked out for the best (8 pts 9 seconds).

I've not seen heartbreak on a young mans face like that since I was a kid and watched Chris Webber call a timeout that didn't exist.

Kent State once had a magical run to the elite 8 with Trevor Huffman as the point guard and their power forward? Antonio Gates. Yes that Antonio Gates.
