Burning a BRUSH PILE in the middle of winter. I just love the colours and sound of a great roaring fire. These piles of brush have been sitting for a couple of years drying out. The safest time to burn is winter. In fact, here in northern Alberta you can't get a permit dated before November 1st to ensure ground fires can't get started. This burn is an amazing site.
I wish I had the machinery to be able to handle and process this into a marketable product. Seems quite a shame for it to be burned up & nothing gained. But we are better off than before. In years gone by, all the trees would be pushed over & piled up and burned. Now the trees can be sold to a sawmill & the only things burned are the tips and branches.

It is always impressive how fast a big brush pile will burn once it is rolling.
