Another reason is for traction or performance ;) In polo we put shoes on to ensure the horses don't slip when we run and turn fast just like soccer players wearing cleats ;) Eventers also apply studs to their shoes for the same reason.

This is a well made video and i believe your channel deserves a little more attention the setting is great though more analogies or a funnel to have the info come slower it was a lot to take in at once but other than that you kept my attention the whole time even though im not that into horses and only had this one question

Horses indeed don't need shoes, if your horse gets foot sore there are several different hoof boots to help your horses hoof problems. In the long run they're actually cheaper than horse shoes. Horses hoofs are designed to function in a particular way and this is altered and impended when shoes are applied to the hoof. Barefoot and bitless horses, on the correct diet, tend to have far fewer problems and can function as nature intended
