been wanting to make this video for a while but i’m finally sitting down to show all the taylor swift vinyls ive been able to collect over the last year and a half. even though i’m a bit of a late-comer to the record game, i’ve learned so much this past year about collecting and caring for vinyl records! i wanted to share with you my vinyl essentials, how to care & store your records and which record players are worth buying. there’s still so many records that i would love to have in my collection but this is where i am right now :)

pro tip: Don't throw away the original paper sleeves, just store them in the gatefold. If you ever choose to resell, not having the factory sleeves will drop the value significantly, even if your records are in good condition.

Just put the vinyl on the turntable while its on, and just hold the cleaning brush over the vinyl (While its spinning) and itll do the job

I’m so sad I wasn’t quick enough to get the lover live from paris vinyls. They’re so expensive now 💔😭. For cleaning I find it easiest to put my vinyl on the turntable and turn it on so all you have to do is gently press the cleaning tool on top while the record spins for you ☺️

I love this! I got folklore and 1989 tv for Christmas and recently bought a record player of my own. Though I’m no expert myself, my dad is a big vinyl guy (been collecting since the 70’s), so I’ve learnt quite a lot from him. Something I do know though, is I don’t recommend storing them in the outer sleeve. Instead, I would put them in the inner sleeves, with the cardboard pockets (with the protector over it). Keep it up Nena! 😊

Something that I do also is when I put the record back into the outer sleeve, I turn the opening of the inner sleeve (where you pull the vinyl out) to the left or right and slide it back into the outer sleeve! That way the opening of the inner sleeve is covered and you don’t have to worry about dust touching the actual vinyl when it’s sitting on the shelf :)

I am so impressed that you got the heart shaped Lover From Paris vinyl. I so wanted them but I can't justify $1k on those records when I've already spent too much on The Eras Tour. But, I'd rather be at the tour than just listening at home so it's a good trade off.

I put my plastic sleeves inside the gatefolds as normal. Then when you slip the cover into the outer plastic sleeve, I just make sure the opening of the sleeve is the same as the cover, so you can just slip the vinyl out whenever you need. That way you don't make it thicker than it needs to be and you won't have to jam it all in. That's what I've done since the 80s!

So much fun to see all the vinyl you have, Nena! I loved this! My one tip for you is one that I still do myself even when I know better. The plural of vinyl is vinyl. It’s wild, I know, but there is no ‘s’ on vinyl. Cheers, love!

Target (or at least the one near me) has 2 fearless vinyl pressings. The gold one and the red one! Make sure to check the pressing color on the sticker!

TIP : For the vinyl with a lot of disks like Red you can get outer sleeves with more room to make sure you don't warp them and give them more space!
