The Independent State of Spanish Haiti, in modern day Dominican Republic, gained "independence" (nothing actually changed) from Spain in 1821, only lasting 7 momths before it was invaded and anexed by Haiti in 1822. 22 years after, the Dominican Republic was founded and gained independence from Haiti.
