Serena Williams will go down in history as the greatest woman's tennis player of all time and in my humble opinion the best female athlete of all time. I still believe Federer is the greatest tennis player of all-time (men and woman.) One reason for Serena's dominance on the court is her BIG, PENETRATING forehand. In this video I break down this amazing stroke and show how she is able to create power using her entire body in the process.

The high elbow thing you mention at around 7:45 was taught at Bolliteri Academy and reinforced by Richard Williams. The whole point of keeping that elbow high is to make sure they have a full extension for follow through on the forehand so they aren’t robbed of power. It’s pretty good technique that’s forgotten these days.

0:57 no she’s not! She was on a practice court in both pics, when have you ever seen Serena on a small court like that? Besides the crowd or stood outside looking in.

Racket face 45 degree. So what is the ideal angle of racket face at the backswing? 0, 45, 90(vertical)? Or this angle is depend on the height of contact point?
