In this video I do a quick overview of all of my camera gear. I do both lots of Photography and Cinematography for our school's desktop publications (Yearbook, monthly magazine, online newspaper).

I am very involved in our publications, for I am the lead photographer and the Managing Editor of all three publications for 2011-2012 with a staff of about 35 students... but that's a topic for another video.

Thanks for watching!

Thank you, I really appreciate the positive support! Also, I completely agree with your point about the Canon v. Nikon "war."

At first I was like "let there be a L lens". Then you took a 70-200 IS and I was like "Woah." Nice setup, simplistic yet useful. Great video!

Oh ok I see it's school property. That's cool. Nice to have access to all that. I bet it absolutely broke your heart to give it back.

Great video! Great info! And something else I noticed was you called some of the lenses "Tools". Which I found to be great, simply because there are so many people in the" Canikon" war of which is better. At the end of the day, they're all just tools in order to help you get your job done! Looking forward to seeing more videos from you!

Canon's 18-135mm, and Sigma's 17-70mm f/2.8-4 are the best lenses that come to mind in the price range. I'd recommend checking out some other Sigma and Tamron lenses on B&P Photo Video (and reading their reviews). Some of their lenses are quite phenomenal in their respective price ranges.

Great gear, I'm too a high school photographer. I was issued a Olympus E-1, but often I use the 5DII and 100-400, 24-105 also. Great setup. Mine works well so I'd imagine yours does too!

@webkinzworld08 Thank you! I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of your new camera. Your kit lens provides a great focal range to start off with too.

Both of those lenses were owned by the school. I have since graduated and started college, and am now building my own kit.

If you're referring to the 70-200mm, it's the first version.

By the way, if you're not in the US the Canon T2i is branded as the Canon EOS 550D.

That's way decent setup for a High School photography. Good Job. Nice gears btw.

Your school bought all that gear? nice!

@steezysloth Yes, I agree that it's overkill for high school publications - but given our publication's budget, buying that gear was a practical investment in my opinion. Also, 90% of what was shown was purchased with the school's money.

Assuming 600 USD, I'd say go for a Canon T2i w/ the kit lens (it's a few years old, but is just about the same as the newer T3i and T4i, minus the movable screen, higher FPS and a few other small things). Depending on where you buy the camera, you should end up spending about $600. I recommend purchasing from Amazon.
