VIEWERS REQUEST: COPY YOUR FAVORITE T-SHIRT!

I love to copy my clothes to create patterns and when I find a favorite t-shirt that fits great I immediately copy it and create a pattern so I can remake the t-shirt as many times as I want.

This was a request from a viewer so I also showed you how to sew it together!

For those watching, it should be mentioned that after you take the measurement for the neckband, multiply it by 0.85 (which is 85%) to get the new measurement. If you use the regular measurement the neckline will still out, fold over and refuse to stay flat. Stretch fabrics have a mind of their own when I first started copying clothes I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to do the neckband.

You are a great instructor! I can follow your teaching easier, than most videos made in my mother language. No blah blah, no disturbing music, clear step by step explanations, everything at a beginner friendly pace.
Keep on your fantastic work.

I am an experienced sewer and watch sometimes instructional videos just for fun, always interested how other people do 'their stuff'. Well...your video is absolutely GREAT. No big fuss, straight to the point, easy to follow. Now I have to watch more of your videos, lol.

Great great and great! I’ve been sewing for more than 60 years and I am still learning! I never thought of using a tracing wheel for outlining sleeves and necklines . I am always inspired by fresh new ideas. Thanks for sharing your tips.

I haven’t even finished it yet and already it’s better than the tutorials I’ve seen on copying shirts. That sleeve detail and the seam allowances must make one hell of a difference.

I'm a seasoned seamstress. I have worked in costume shops, sewed for people, and been sewing for about 40 years. This was still amazing and such good instruction!! THANK you!

Fantastic tutorial, thank you! I'd like to have seen the final t-shirt though. And perhaps someone wearing it.

P.S. at the minute mark around 9:43 when you sweep the excess paper away, I cringed because you didn't close your rotary cutter and I visualized something I've done before...while sweeping something away I brushed the rotary cutter and sliced my hand open. It was pretty severe because I had a new blade in, and it taught me to always close the blade before I lay it down. Even if I'm getting ready to pick it back up to use, always close the blade. Anyhow, just wanted to say what a great teacher you are, and thank you!!

In a crunch, I've recycled shipping cellophane bags, clean bags from boxed cereal or unused left over painter's vinyl plastic floor covering. Because they are clear sturdy products, they can be used to trace commercial patterns to preserve all its sizes as well as a reusable pattern that does not tear easily. Be careful - wet Sharpie ruler marks & lines smudge, give it a second to dry or lift up ruler - do not swish ruler across ink in preventing drag marks ...

Mimi G - this was a FANTASTIC tutorial! I'm just getting into sewing. I bought a used pattern and was overwhelmed. Your tutorial was much easier to understand. Thank you!

I’ve always wanted to see my own clothes! I use to watch project runway as a teen. I had a least two binders full of my own designs but I could never convince my parents to buy a sewing machine 🙄 I’ve been watching your channel for years and you encourage me me to start my own collection (well at least tru😂😂) love you mini g. Your very inspirational and stylish and you inspire that inner designer in me!

This video was so well produced and with excellent instruction that I archived it in order that it will be in a secure place. And I am a very particular dude. So audio levels, lighting and camera are all good. If this is a sample of the level of instruction and production you provide - this is superb.

I've watched so many tutorials of how to sew a short sleeve top but those were so hard to follow. However you did an amazing job by teaching it very clear and in an easiest way. Hope to see many vedios like this in the future. Good luck!! 😘😘

Thank you for showing this sleeve attachment. I have a dress that has stretchy material and didn't know how to put the sleeve on but that is a great way to do it.
