Bengalis in general have an emotional connection with this train. Every year this train carries thousands of patients from west Bengal to Chennai for better medical treatment. At any point of time you will hear from the passengers how they were looted, cheated by hospitals in west Bengal. This train should be named as Ambulance Express

Recently I travelled in Chennai Howrah mail it was delayed by 6 hrs due to rake sharing of Coromandel express only. 12841 Coromandel express arrives Chennai Central at 16:50 hrs and 12840 Chennai Howrah mail departs Chennai Central at 19:15 hrs only 2 hrs 25 minutes difference. Suppose if 12841 Coromandel express is 1 1/2 to 2 hrs late then 12840 Chennai Howrah mail also gets delayed. Rake Sharing only delaying these two trains most Coromandel express and Chennai Howrah mail. It's better South Eastern Railway and Indian Railways should recognize the timings of Coromandel express and Chennai Howrah mail and make these two trains to run with different rakes only.

My favourite train forever Coromandel express. The rake sharing of Coromandel express and Chennai Howrah mail should be removed. Due to rake sharing only the Coromandel express and Chennai Howrah mail is delaying most. It's better that Coromandel express runs with single rake only.
