Epiphone Bonamassa 2023 SG îs overpriced. The SG is one of my favourite guitars and I really love #epiphone too but they really are pushing it with the pricing of this guitar. For the same price I can buy 3 different #gibson SG's!!

Tell me what you think of Epiphone and their crazy pricing these days.

I’m 100% with you on this Dave… Epiphone are killing us (and themselves) with these prices 🤷‍♂ I like the look of this but unfortunately will have to think twice before getting one... ☹🤔

Certificate of authenticity for a Chinese somewhere at Gibson is having a good laugh, I think.

I am definitely with you for sure. This is getting out of hand. Love your channel. Thank you.

Wow. The premium that Epiphone are charging for signature models is outrageous. The last new Gibson SG that I bought was a 2019 Standard ('61 style) with a hard shell case for $1100 at the end of 2019. I did go nuts and pay over $800 for the 150th Anniversary model Crestwood Custom with a hard shell case, but that's where I draw the line for an Epiphone.

The Epiphone '59 LP reissues had Burstbuckers in them for cheaper. That SG is way overpriced.

I don't understand the Bonamassa obsession. Truly.

Totally agree. These are Gibson prices for Epiphones. I have a Gibson SG Special that I got (last year) for less than this Epiphone.

I think part of the Bonamassa appeal and pricing is that these are limited run, not production guitars. I believe Epiphone is only making 300 of this particular model, so you could buy it, throw it under your bed for 20 years and maybe it'll eventually be worth the retail price.

I agree with you 100% but even thought I bought one. I think that says how beautiful this guitar is. Not getting burstbuckers with it is totally unfair, I think that is the worst part, where Epi went really greedy

Dave, same deal in Canada. The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa '63 SG Custom cost $1, 949.00 CDN. Gibson SG Tribute cost $1, 749.00 CDN. Gibson SG Special cost $1, 929.00 CDN.

What are they thinking, I know the Lazarus model is two years old but It has Gibson pickups and was a lot cheaper.
At this price climbing rate when Epiphone finally releases the KH Greeny it will defiantly be over $2k(US), might as well save for a few more months and get the Gibson Greeny Standard.

I couldn’t agree more with you. I bought the Gibson SG Special with the P90 in ebony color. As you said it comes with a hard shell case, and I found a great deal for 1, 180€ brand new. Awesome guitar with an amazing sound. Best SG for me. Thats the one to go for, without any doubt!! I start to get tired with the new Epiphone prices… Adam Jones, Alex Lifeson, Joe Bonamassa… 1500€ minimum!! They have lost their place in the market. People ( if they are a little smart ) will rather buy a Gibson ( LS tribute, LS studio, SG Special, SG standard, SG 61 ) rather than buying an Epiphone!! No doubt about it!! When will Epiphone put their feet on the ground again?… @epiphone you have lost it…

As long as people keep paying, the price will keep increasing. Glad I have all the Epiphones I wanted. Time to explore quality, more budget friendly brands instead. And as of today, a dollar is worth only .05 more than a Euro. Why the extra $ for you guys? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Also, each state in the US has it's own tax percentage so it varies.

Grown tired of the onslaught of Bonamassa (and Slash, for that matter) sig Epiphones. The novelty is shot. Adding insult to injury is the dumbing down of the features and components thru the evolution of these models. That being said - I’m definitely all on board for this particular SG🙋🏼‍♂️

Yeah, I'd pay around $800 for that. But not really, because I HATE triple humbucker guitars. We all knew it was coming, well it's actually been here for a few months. The "once they stretched us out with breaching the $1000 mark, they would slam it to us forever" price hikes.

When my signature Epiphone SG comes out, it shall have no less than 6 Probuckers 😂

Take away the money that goes to Mr. Bonamassa, we're now talking about a $1300 to $1500 SG. It has an Ebony fretboard, Mother of Pearl inlays, binding on the neck, Maestro vibrola tailpiece, Kluson tuners, a third pickup and is a limited run of 800 guitars. So, in my mind the price isn't excessive for what you get.
