My coworker at my old firm was in her late 50s and was always so fashionable. She and her husband had money but never looked like she boasted about it. She was not a label person. She just always looked put together, even if she was dressed casually that day. This is quiet luxury 😊

My mother used to say “you should wear your labels on the inside!” When you look fabulous people should be drawn to you not your clothes!❤️❤️

I like the term quiet elegance. Luxury equates with something being expensive but elegance can’t be bought. Many years ago before the quiet luxury trend became a trend a sales associate in a store said she always noticed people who dressed quietly. Their clothes whispered instead of shouted “Look at me” Whether it’s a trend or not I have been, and will continue to be all in. Thank you Jennifer!

I love quiet luxury. My mother told me when I was a teen that old money had no need to show off and new money had the need to be flashy and brand oriented. Btw, we had neither, haha. Anyway, I have always embraced the quiet luxury. It is always classic and in style.

I'm 68, and I've never been a person of means, I've always shopped for the highest quality i could afford. Classic has always been my style in adulthood. I've never been a fast fashion person & was greatly dismayed when so many of the textile and clothing manufacturers moved out of the country. Acquaintances have given me grief over the amount that I paid for some item or where I shopped. (I live in a small town...🙄) I simply explained that I could wear it for years. I love the fact that the fashion industry is embracing this style, at least for brief while. 😊

As someone who doesn't keep up with trends, this video was very helpful! I would love more videos like this and a video on investment shopping. Good taste and discreet elegance will always be in style, but it's refreshing that this is finally on trend now. I'm very grateful to influencers like you who promote these qualities for the younger generation. As a 22- year-old myself, I strongly feel that young people today really need to hear this!!

This has been my style pretty much my entire adult How gratifying to have a name for this, and even be ‘on trend’.
I’m grateful to my Swiss mother for instilling these values and modeling this in a seemingly effortless manner.

Not flashy but understated... showcases you, a human...I see that as modesty and class. A godly perspective that came to my mind when listening to you. Modesty in apparel and outward appearance is always in style inside and out!

Quiet luxury. My forever style now has a name and is on trend 😂 Couldn’t be happier about this and I’m curiously watching to see if it catches on in my area. I’d love to see more videos on this topic!

Love quiet luxury! Understated is one of my words. Love affordable good quality items that will last for years.

According to Vogue’s definition, I’ve been dressing this way for many years. 😊 The only label I’ll wear is my own. In my twenties I was instructed that I should be complimented, not my makeup or clothing. I’m in my seventies now.

It used to be called "classic", then "how to look expensive", then "old money" and now it is "quiet luxury". A new name for what many of us recognize as always being good style in quality fabrics that last.

Thank you for clarifying quiet luxury. I have recently come out of the athleisure wear constant use after discovering your channel. I have always been most comfortable in more feminine styles. I have cleared out most of my clothing and am ready to begin building a classic wardrobe. A video on investment shopping would be a tremendous help to finding myself. Thank you for this sanctuary. I love the calm and serenity your videos bring, no matter what the content is.

Thank you for the video. Even when I was in my 20s my fashion style was classic, elegant and understated. I used to think that I looked stodgy, but I noticed that people are treated differently (better) than when they have a quiet luxury appearance.

This fall I found 3 cashmere sweaters on Poshmark for a STEAL. My goal is to take special care with them and wear them for years and years. My mother was the queen of quiet luxury. I thought it was boring when I was younger. She's gone now but I have long since appreciated the beauty of her subtle quality, silk, cashmere, jeans, loafers look for years. My role model. She also had a ten item wardrobe but never labled it as such. I am excited about this as well! You've been dressing this forever Jennifer! Makes me smile!

So many comments saying this, but it’s neat to have a term for this “style”. ☺️ Another reason I love a more simple look without labels everywhere is that I do not appreciate supporting brands that do not match my values. The next purse I shop for will be a brand like Mark and Graham that doesn’t feel the need to have their name on the outside.

This is how I dress mostly in fall and winter. I have a uniform: black thermal tights, merino wool skirt above my knees, a couple cashmere sweaters (I can’t stand being cold), and a cashmere cardigan. OR a velvet dress. In the summer I go for 50’s dresses, satin pink dresses, or long house of ch ones. My style comes alive but still put together.

When I started following this channel years ago it’s because I wanted this very look. I had stumbled on Jennifer’s Ted Talk on the 10 item wardrobe and was amazed at the idea of quality over quantity. I now try to incorporate this in all of my life, food, home decor, skin care, etc. I would recommend doing a YouTube search for this Ted Talk if you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing it.

This is my M.O. and I love that it’s a trend right now. I do a lot of sewing so I’m always incorporating classic styles with the current touch.
