120 people evacuated from apartment block blaze in Bromley

Approximately 120 people have been rescued from a fire at an apartment complex in southeast London.

Fifteen fire engines and 100 firefighters are dealing with the fire at the St Mark’s Square apartment complex, the London Fire Brigade said.

Station Commander Colin Digby, who is at the scene of the flat fire, said: “Crews are making steady progress. This is going to be a protracted incident and we expect our crews to be on scene for several hours to come.”

Josh Gill, 29, a Co-op team leader from Bromley, said: “I literally live on the doorstep.
