My elementary school sang this, I remember a bunch if 5th graders singing this. I was a high soprano so I sang the part at the end where they are saying aaa. Now I'm an alto 😭

I was my choirs lowest alto and I still remember singing this at conference choir and being used as an example for the overlapping “la la lala la la”

My choir is doing this 🥲 I'm an alto lol, it's challenging for us considering none of us know any french, but once we get past pronunciation I think we'll do well!✌️

We're about to sing this in my chorus. We've only learned the first set of 'la's.

.... Now that I know what's coming I'm preparing for some difficult harmonies.

EDIT: Its been almost a whole year now since this concert. And for the record it went awesome, I still love this piece

EDIT, ONCE MORE: Nowadays I'm part of an advanced four-part choir and these harmonies have been reduced to but a PIECE OF CAKE. Doing pieces like Witness (composed by Jack Halloran) or Come to Me (composed by Dan Forrest) make this feel so simple. However, I do admit, I come back to this song every now and again simply because it's catchy.

I remember in middle school my choir sang this, and because I speak French I had to go to the front of the class and teach everyone how the words were pronounced 😭😭😭

I remember doing this in elementary school district chorus. I sang soprano 2 back then, now I sing as a bass 2 with a Bb1 as my lowest note lol
Crazy how the times change

Thanks so much! In my elementary school we are singing this and I don't remember much so this really helps! I'm the low part which is some what confusing as well.
