Three questions: 1. Other than price, what is the difference between the BBM800BSS (Pro) and the older BBM800XL?. 2. Does the Pro model make loud thumping noises during kneading. Lots of complaints about that with the XL. 3. Does the kneading blade reverse directions like a Zojirushi, or only knead in one direction?

My $60 bread machine does EVERYTHING the sage does.

Thought quality would be same as my Sage smart oven, alas not. Thin cheap metals, sent straight back in favour of tried and superior Panasonic.
I'm shocked Heston Blumenthal would endorse this breadmaker.

Got this recently and the nut dispenser doesn't dispense.

This is more expensive than the Panasonic I have, which was supposed to be top-drawer, so watched the video. I'm a bit underwhelmed.
- The exciting 'innovation' seemed to be the lie-flat dough blade, but then at the end of the video we see that it rips a huge hole in the bread, much worse than the Panasonic, and above that, the Sage guy himself had to show how to soak the bread tin to get the ripped-out breadcrust out from under the dough blade. Wow.
- Apart from that, it's bread seems to be cooked horizontally rather than vertically (but at the expense of a bigger footprint), and the screen is more intuitive.
- But... no yeast container... you have to stick your yeast in with the rest of the ingredients, like the cheap-o machines.

Man that's a horrible bread.. better baking it in your oven..
