I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who reached out in the last couple of days. It made me realise that there's more positivity than negativity, and that's what I need to focus on. Tomorrow is my day off, so I'll be replying to as many comments as possible. But honestly, thank you! My review of Marvels should be out next, but until then, stay Mad, Doggs! WOOF WOOF! 🐶

first ever MARVEL comic I read was Vengeance of the Moon Knight ( 2010 ). Instantly solidified him as my favorite character in fiction. It was gritty, it was funny, it felt like a comic. Had nice appearances from Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Captain America.

I’m impressed with not only these excellent choices but with the manner in which you clearly/concisely construct your reasoning. You know your stuff!

New Avengers by Bendis is necessary to understand the events happening in Young Avengers since their are plot points in Bendis run that connects with Young Avengers. So I always recomment New Avengers by Bendis as another new reader friendly book to start.

I started getting into Marvel comics over this summer, and the first one I read was Mark Waid’s Fantastic Four run since I didn’t want to watch any of the movies. It was perfect for a beginner, and was a ton of fun!

Astonishing X-Men is great. New X-Men is good too. But the current House of X/Power of X/ Dawn of X is a perfect place to start too. Not sure about them, give it a try, may just make you want to find out about the past stories.
My Advice, never be too worried about just jumping into a book. Every book is some one's first. Don't let it discourage you from trying something that looks interesting to you.

Love this video! Great choices here, especially Ultimate Spider-Man and Captain America. Definitely gonna check out Astonishing X-Men, plus Deadpool & Cable (once the omnis are available) as the mutant side of Marvel is an area I’ve neglected. Your Daredevil suggestion has been on my wish list for ages too

I used to read quite a lot of Marvel Comics back in my local library before i started buying them physically, digitally and also adapted from prose novels. The first one I ever read was "Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars" (1984) and then after that a random selection from stand-alone series, crossover events, team-ups and non-canons/alternate universes. It's safe to say this was also my first cross-over event that was filled lot of beloved characters in one place and the first time Spider-Man got the Symbiote suit, which I got me hooked after watching the version from 90's Spider-Man animated series. I still own the prose novel version of Secret Wars (1984) as I still read this amazing story time and time again. Furthermore, usually or sometimes when I'm reading Marvel Comics I don't mind what orders I read it in because I can come back to them in later stage and read them again.

I'd love to see a real omnibus collection for Fraction's entire Iron Man run. That char is already pretty bare for quality stories.

I've been an average marvel fan like watching classics like spiderman, hulk, iron man etc..Been a fan of marvel movies since i was a kid but i never went too deep in the lore and i have some days off from my school so i wanted to start reading comics, yk from the 90's to current if i had to.

So i wanted to know where to start from! I read manga and what not so reading right is gonna be hard.

I'm not a heavy reader of Marvel comics, but I second the recommendation for the first part of Jason Aaron's Thor.
