Just got back from my first couples therapy session an hour ago. The accuracy here is unreal. Women’s feelings are always validated and praised. Men’s feelings are immature and aggressive. Louie nailed it

This is me every day. People with razor sharp words and stone faces, cutting deeply with their self-importance and passive-aggressiveness. And when presented with honesty, it's considered so rude they take offense and view it as aggression.

This show was so underrated. It's smarter than most people would assume not to mention the camerawork is always great

That last bit is actually quite brilliant:
1. She cuts him off (zero respect/regard for him)
2. She complains about him without:
2.1 Looking him in the eyes, or even in his direction
2.2 Naming him directly

The therapist lets it slide. But when Louie responds directly and honestly, albeit annoyed, it's "hostile"

I always interpreted the scream as within Louis' mind. The show demonstrates surrealist elements rather frequently and the scene's unfolding is foreshadowed by his wife mentioning "coping mechanisms", of which Louis internally screaming in public is one. I love the scene and it's one of the show's most memorable.

Lesson: don’t let them talk over you. If they interrupt your sentence just keep talking. Don’t stop, and don’t even talk louder, don’t talk faster either. They’ll stop in their tracks and they’ll feel very awkward about it. Lest you scream out a window.

He is such a good actor. Look at the way his face reacts before and after his wife turns to him in the end.

There's layers of subtle truth in this sketch. A common misunderstanding between men and women is that direct aggression is often perceived by women as much more malevolent, whereas men often perceive indirect aggression as much more malevolent. Hence the wife's clear, but passive, aggression here being ignored by the female therapist who is shocked by Louie's direct response
