My son is 29. He had covid over Christmas and his Pfizer shots in june.
He has felt bad since but about 2 wks ago started getting chest pains.
1st Er said it was anxiety and just gave him anxiety meds.
2nd Er visit basically the same. Though both times he had an normal ekg.
Then he followed up with his dr who sent him back to Er for CT scan. Which they said was unnecessary.
They said it was probably esphogeal spasms. Gave him Gi cocktail He also ran a 100-101 fever on and off for a Cpl days. He was once again sent home.
He saw his Dr on Monday and he did a bunch of blood tests and said his inflammatory markers were high. And put in referral for cardiologists.
That night he woke in extreme distress from chest pain and right arm pain. Brought him to Ok university hospital instead of the same place that kept dismissing him.
After doing blood work his troponin level was 344! They put him.in ICU and even though his ekg was normal he had low HR of 50. (It was between 40-60 for past 3 wks).
They immediately put him on heparin drip and anti-inflammatory drip. Ekg stayed normal except HR kept going under 50.
Tues did a cath, echo and heart esphogeal scope. Which all looked good.
But could see he was having spasms.
He had a bad episode of pain last night and spasms which they just gave him morphine for.
Today the Dr discharged him on cardizem to prevent any heart attack or spasms and vistoral. With a Asap follow up with a cardiologist and his primary care dr.
They said do to his family history on both sides of heart attacks and heart disease they were worried but just could not find anything else out. He was
advised him it was probably a combination of having covid, the vaccine and genetics.
So now we just have to wait and see what the new cardiologist says.
His level went down to 264 but that is extremely high so we are still very worried.
We we told when he first went in, due to his high troponin levels he had almost difinetely had a heart attack but the test showed no signs.

It’s been a year now since my 16 year old and I both were hospitalized due to COVID 19. I will admit I was Not a covid believer by any means whatsoever !!! But it’s real… VERY real.

Anyway it’s been a year now and my daughter complains about her heart feeling “ funny “ fluttering and occasionally hard to breathe . As for me well I’m here because I just contacted the hospital about a cardiologist appointment to see them. My heart has been have Bing “ heart attack “ symptoms and pain that just drops me . Also for many months now I feel like I can’t breathe when I walk from my kitchen wash a few dishes and walk to the living room and I feel like I ran 2 miles and can’t catch my breath for a minute or two. Everyone says it’s just recovering from COVID. So I ignore it. But now my heart hurts constantly and bruised and the occasional to frequent pains in my heart can’t be avoided anymore… something IS WRONG !!! I know my body and this IS NOT RIGHT !!

I do not scare easy nor am I afraid of ANYTHING or anyone but THIS truly hurts and scares the hell out of me !!! I’ve lived a healthy life I ran cross country track and field I served MANY years in the military and I have always been HIGHLY active . Now I want to sleep all the time and fight to stay awake when I sit down for a couple minutes or at work people ask if I’m ok because I’m breathing hard just walking to my office or directors meetings .

I’m scared………. I don’t want this to be a end all or effect my life expectancy… but most of all it’s my daughter who had it 100 times worse then me. She deserves a normal life. They put our beds side by side in the hospital and I held her hand at night every time her monitors and vitals crashed .. I prayed so hard “ God please take me leave her be !!! “ she suffered so tremendously!! But I could not take the pain from her and Drs would tell me that SHE needs to fight and her body needs to fight the virus that they could ONLY treat the symptoms but not the virus.. it’s hard to beg your baby girl to fight something so painful . The 15 year old girl in the room next to us lost her fight. I heard her mom screaming and crying . Then I knew it was very real. Death is very possible. I’m sorry I’m ranting or venting. But as I said I guess this fight is still not over for us. I just wish we could move on and live and this crap would just leave us alone.

I’ll let everyone know what comes of the cardiologist and pulmonologist appointments .
