Humour in Dragon Age: Origins VS Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the newest release from Bioware and as I was playing it and going back and forth with Dragon Age: Origins. I noticed that the humor in the new game is much more toned down compared to the old one, Alistair in Dragon Age: Origins is comedy gold and the cutscenes are very much funny even today, but let me know what do you think; which one of these games is actually funnier?

It's a common crutch for bad writers to get quippy and sarcastic because actual sincerity runs the risk of the audience rejecting something you've put your heart and soul into. But if the characters aren't invested in what's happening, why should the audience?

It's like watching dora the explorer or peppa pig, why not just have a narrator being like ''They both agreed that naps were nice''

This is like watching a sitcom where you know the jokes are sterilized and are written by someone who thought this was funny in their head along with a laugh track in the background.
