I pulled a lowboy back in the 70s with a flip up tri-axle for a few years, the only problem was finding somebody to flip it upside down on the back end after I unloaded.. It saved on tire wear and toll road costs that charged by the axle. Largest load I ever hauled with it was a Koering triple 6 track mounted backhoe; 11’9” wide, my total gross weight over 120, 000 lbs if my memory is correct
