A Successful Week at the Sarasota County Jail

On Tuesday, Corrections personnel hosted their very first inmate job fair. Eight local employers came into our facility and several inmates were offered jobs. On Wednesday, a former inmate shared an inspiring story of her journey from incarceration to freedom on social media, and gave credit to the deputies and volunteers who helped her along the way. Finally, on Friday, Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles visited the jail to help equip inmates with ID cards to better prepare them for re-entry into society. It was a remarkable week for our Corrections Bureaus and we ecstatic to see their successes.
