Taking a look at the greatest scorers in NBA history.

When we talk about basketball history and try to compare the greatest scorers from different eras, it's often a difficult task due to many rule changes, differences in competition, and overall basketball evolution. In this video, we'll dissect the games of five of the best scorers that ever played in the NBA, explain why they were so effective, and then finally, we'll try to answer the difficult question:

I love MJ as much as the next guy, but no mention of Kareem and Wilt? Kareem’s skyhook was quite literally unguardable

Durant is to me the most unguardable player ever, dude is near 7ft tall and can shoot, pass and dribble the ball efficiently!!

hardest player to guard...
James harden it is literally illegal to guard him

Steph is pretty unguardable, it’s hard to guard someone who has top 5 handles of all time, and can pull up from 30 no problem.

Durant is close to 7 feet but it isn't height that separates MJ, it's his leaping ability. While Jordan's height may only be 6'6 his ability to leap and stay off the ground made him impossible to guard. Couple that with his underrated strength and he was unstoppable. Even with the height advantage that Durant has, his back to the basket game wasn't nearly as deadly as MJ's and I have no doubt that if the 3 ball had been as prevalent in the 80's and 90's, that MJ wouldn't have created an ungaurdable deep shot to match.

I'd say the title goes to the player who kept getting mentioned without having his own segment in the video: Wilt. The stat which made the most unguardable: 48.5 min/gm, he rarely took a rest. Head-to-head against Russell (about 140 games), Wilt averaged 29.9 points and 28.1 rebounds per game. When that's your line against one of the best defenders in NBA history, against the best team of the decade, it's the definition of unguardable.

IMO, if you had to point out one huge advantage that Jordan had over every NBA player ever, it was his first step. I think I've only seen one video talk about it, but Jordan's first step is probably the quickest and most explosive I've ever seen out of any player. That's partly why he was so efficient at mid-range scoring; people had to respect his first step and his ability to just blow right by them

In 2k13, MyCareer once averaged 112 ppg, 7 rpg, 12apg, 12 Spg in 29 mins per game. The settings was at a rookie difficulty and 12 mins of gametime. My career high was 148 points. Lol

It sounds strange, but John Stockton was one of the hardest players to guard in history, seeing his game and the words of G Payton

In my opinion it’s Durant, his length, speed, height, and shooting ability from distance separates him

If we're talking about prime performances, Shaq and Kareem are more unstoppable than anyone on this list. Doesn't matter how many kinds of shots anyone does, this isn't HORSE.

Honestly, you have to split it into guards and big guys

MJ and KD on the top of that list for me. MJ with the slight edge because of his quickness, strength and athletic ability which is above KDs. Their bag is limitless.
