What does it say about us that our political class and 90% of our commentators would prefer the criminally corrupt over the intemperate, the venal over the vainglorious, the liar over the loudmouth?
It's so easy to sneer at uneducated white Americans as racist and homophobic and all the rest - not so easy to look in the mirror and see an agent of the system that drove the people that far that they saw Trump as the answer to the Deplorables problems.
