MY RS3 FINALLY HAS A TTE855 UNITRONIC E85 TUNE!!!

15 months ago we installed one of the very first TTE855's to roll off TheTurboEngineer's assembly line. Two actuators later, we are back using the OEM actuator and now it's time to party! Unitronic went back to basics and provided me an E85 tune utilizing the OEM actuator and the TTE777 E85 map, but with some fueling changes made for the Injector Dynamic 1300 injectors that we've installed. Once we installed the OEM actuator & I tuned the car, I headed out for my very first WOT run in a VERY long time and HOLY SH$T did it ever not disappoint! I can't wait to see what I'm able to finally do this year with this turbo!

Looking promising, unitronic need to get their act together! This has taken way too long, I gave up on them long time ago and went with syvecs, good luck and hope you will see some good results, nice to see the rs3 back though 😊

Great content, best I've seen on youtube regarding rs3's.

Can I ask if someone knows what's the max you can get out from a tte700, tte777, tte855 on pump gas?

Cheers!

Hey Adam, hope you’re well - I was wondering if this is still the Stage 3 Unitronic TCU, or if you moved up to a Stage 4? Looks like it’s holding the torque well. Wasn’t sure if the Stage 4 files are reserved for DEKA clutches. Thanks!!

Hi bro, u like dyno testing parts… which is very good..

Quick Q, do midpipes add any hp or torque whatsoever on a stock 2020 rs3?

Thoughts on Uni’s updated version of their tunes that limits wastegate rattle. I have it on my stage 2 93 catless dp and i find it makes the exhaust and pops too quiet. Wastegate rattle is basically gone though.

Bro your basically getting a custom tune it’s just from Uni. I get it don’t get me wrong, went through this with uni myself but on an ims780. The disappointment is there is only a file for e85 and (93oct), which I don’t have access to. I made the switch to DS1, best decision ever! I know your a uni fanboy but your missing out.

Why not try other aftermarket actuators 😮

I loved the look on your face the moment that boost hit lol. Curious, any particular reason the Unitronic file says TTE777 as opposed to TTE855?

Nice build. Not sure if it applies here, but with the higher boost, Spark Plug gap can be an issue on other platforms. With upgraded turbos on my VR30, high boost was blowing out the spark and causing breakup. I had to gap the plugs down to like .024 from Factory .028. Looking forward to seeing this run once it's all dialed in.

How do you know how to preload the actuator

Kinda strange how they weren’t happy with the actuator trying several revisions to make it work properly…. just to end up going back to OEM and using a file for a different turbo lol 🤷‍♂️

Nice job! Be sure to let us know what the reason for the break-up was! :)

I am also waiting patiently to see Unitronic results on this turbo with E85, 102 and 98 octain files... 👍👌

Imagine not driving your car for over a year because you're waiting on a generic OTS tune from Uni. You could of self tuned it using Flex/any OBD protocol tuner and made better power/tq by learning how to tune. Hell you could of done it on DS1.
