The audio isn't bad. It could be compression that's causing it to sound like it's in a tube. Perhaps if Icinga get's Amanda a blue orb microphone it will help. As for understanding her Aussie accent I didn't have a problem, only I've not heard the word "Cache" pronounced that way before.

Thanks for the Icinga Intro. I'm trying to move from Nagios to Icinga2, however your tutorial doesn't look anything like the Icinga2 I have installed.. It looks like a completely unique application. Nagios however has stayed the same, therefore I'm still using it.

Icinga looks great, can't wait to test drive it. I have a large Cisco network but sadly not much in the way of monitoring.

I wanted to know the state of Icinga, and what it would bring over Nagios, and this video is a great overview. I'll look up what's happened since 2010 though.

Of course, also, I have learned that at least some aussies say "kaysh" and "haitch". :-)

@jeroth1987 hmm, Icinga is free and open source while Nagios XI is a pay-for-product and closed. It would be like comparing Icinga to Tivoli. Nonetheless, have a look at our website for the latest comparison chart. Icinga has 2 user interfaces - Icinga New Web is a better in comparison to Nagios XI.

Nagios XI is 95% open, and most of the components can be used with Core. In your position I wouldn't want to compare them either. nagios is better than tivoli as well.
