Government employees in Assam are "not entitled" to a second marriage if the spouse is alive and they would require permission from the state government if they want to marry again, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
The Chief Minister said the order would be strictly enforced as there were disputes where two wives of those government employees who died were claiming pensions.
