Well, I just picked up a Pixel 8a for $399 on Mint Mobile and got 6 months out of 12 months free of unlimited data plan for $180 ($360 normally). So, $580 all in for 1 year including phone and service. That saves me a FORTUNE over my T Mobile Magenta plan. I prefer the design of the 8 series over the new Pixel 9 which looks like an iphone and Samsung. Pixel 9 is a nice phone, but the 8a feels better in my hand. HOWEVER, Mint Mobile is offering $400 off of Pixel 9 and same 1/2 off service plan making it same price as my 8a. Not my preference, but if you are in the market for the Pixel 9 and want to switch to Mint, now is the time because deal is temporary apparently. Love my 8a and Mint Mobile service is NO DIFFERENT in my area than T Mobile and I use my phone all day for calls, GPS, internet, video call meetings etc. as a Hospice worker. I was a little skeptical at first, but am so pleased with service..

I like the recent trend of sharp edges that 9 has. Reminds me of good ol'days of iPhone 4. But I know I'll put a strong case on the 8a anyways so I won't feel the difference in the end

Pixel 8a back is frosted plastic that feels like glass. Nice in the fact it can’t shatter.
