i think it’s weird that nikkie mentioned how people should buy sheglam bc ppl can’t afford higher end brands but she literally has a contract with maybelline. nikkie of all people should know that there are great products for a drugstore price

Weren’t these the same influencers that were DETESTING fake palletess and black market makeup on the streets… I vividly remember the trend of buying fake makeup and at the end of every video they encouraged people not to buy it. How is this Shein makeup any different? Copycat pallets and makeup with unknown chemicals. Exactly what they were telling us not to buy fake pallets for.

Nikkie had never struck me as "honest"; quite the opposite actually. I remember when she reviewed that blue fuzzy sponge and she raved so much while being "not sponsored", but later it was discovered that she had already secured a discount code for the sponge with the brand. She's obviously talented, but honesty is not one of her strong suits.

Low income people should have access to affordable clothing. The thing is, these influencers can easily spend a good amount of money on clothing and can afford luxury brands. I don't get why they should be promoting fast fashion.

I cant stress this even more, fast fashion shouldn't be endorsed or promoted by celebrities, tiktokers, and influencers. Be better for the environment.

Honestly the problem with fast fashion isn't only the clothes, it's how long we wear those clothes.
If you buy at Shein or other fast fashion brands and you wear the clothes till they are no longer wearable then you're not partaking in fast fashion cause you aren't buying fashion fast. Now of course buying a cheap t-shirt or sweater will impact the lifespan of that article but that's why it's also important to learn how to mend and repair.
There needs to be an attitude shift.

funny how beauty gurus will rave about this “AFFORDABLE HIGH QUALITY” makeup…well if shein can do it why can’t they? Maybe they should also release “high quality” palettes for $10 instead of $50 🤷‍♀️

"Most ppl can't get the expensive make up!" - Nikki
Even tho you can literally go to CVS and get some awesome make up like Elf, Maybelline, etc for affordable and won't have rat poison in it. 😃👍

Why did Niki act like drug store makeup doesn’t exist nah beauty gurus really think we’re dumb

As someone who doesn’t have a lot of money, ELF is my personal fav. 90% of my makeup is from them 😂

I have lost faith in influencers and the only reason it looks good on her is because she is a makeup artist and knows how to work with makeup

It's weird when people with money try to talk about LOW INCOME PROBLEMS THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE and their IGNORANCE still shines through...it's annoying. I think there's nothing wrong with fast fashion, (although slave/child labor is NOT okay) all brands do this.... even some that claim they don't (even Apple was called out for slave/child labor in china manufacturing). It's hard to find ethical brands in a capitalist society. It's literally all about profit. If a brand is making money but profit growth doesn't happen the stock market says they failed. The problem imo is that there's something wrong with BUYING IN BULK AND THROWING AWAY (regardless of throwing in garbage or thrift stores, it's still bad) and then posting it and it being a trend to do so and the cycle continues. Normal people don't throw away every cheap thing we buy....we keep it bc we can't afford high end things. "Fast" fashion was for us low income people to wear, not high income people to buy and THROW AWAY! Buying in bulk is what makes it bad bc it's "fast", you're putting on more of a workload for the workers than they already have and then wonder about the low quality. (I bought some pants from she-in that I wear and they're a year or two old) And then some have the nerve to resell and make a profit when the one who made it didn't even get paid well....Sorry for the rant btw.

I actually stopped following Nikkie Tutorials after I found out she uses a lot of filters and does undisclosed advertisements. This is like the cherry on top. I’m just tired of influencers that are hypocritical.

The Nikkie one, there are MANY countries where this "drugstore" makeup cost the same as high-end, number wise. In my country, Malaysia, something that costs from RM30-50 is still be considered drugstore, sometimes even up to RM70, which if we just look at the number, is very expensive. It's these online makeup brands like Shein, Focallure, etc, which costs under RM30 for many of their products is the next best thing if we don't want to break the bank.

Even when Nikkie absolutely LOVES something, she still doesn’t act that extra lol

Tati's pallet being stolen is so sad, I feel like she's had a great come back and been doing so well, I missed out on her first one

As someone who lives in a third world country where your currency is extremely low and one dollar is like 20 of your currency, SHEIN is an option everybody goes to because even “low cost brands” is extremely expensive, something like maybelline could cost 200 and more, so as SHEIN is not the best option for some people it’s the only option because you would spend A FORTUNE to get something from a decent brand .

Ps: I didn’t mention the fact of how the wages are shitty and men make more than women and as 99% of SHEIN’s customers are women where I live you can imagine how this is a good option for them.

Unpopular opinion. As a plus size girl, ive had a 90% success shop with them (Shien) . If it wont fit, it gets donated to charity. Brand new. Secondly.. The demand for affordable, comfortable plus size clothes is there but other major company's (not all) do not include/advertise or want anything to do with plus sizes. IF.... major brands, were such, I for one wouldn't mind paying more then Shien offer. The reality is... if your not an active wear company, or a small business( which i also support) its regular sizes/affordable prices. Leaving the plus size community to resort to alternative options. Also the difference between Shien Curvy and Plus size items in stores are very minimal as in terms of quality. So if i can save at least 50%... im going to. ALL IMO.
