I never expected to hear Omar speak like this. Did he apply for a medical exemption and was denied? If he had a medical exemption, why did he start the race? Even if the circumstances were less than ideal they were the same for everyone and many of the athletes produced season or personal bests. Unfortunate as it may be, we have to abide by the rules. Disregarding the rules when it does not suit a particular situation may ultimately lead to wholesale abuse in the future. Omar is behaving like a prima donna. Very disappointing.

cry me a river. when dan o'brien was the favorite for the gold in 1992 barcelona olympics, in decathlon, but failed to clear the bar for pole vault at the usa olympic trial, does that mean that he deserved a spot for the team? no. that is what olympic trial is all about, to see who qualifies. if you want to avoid this situation, then apply citizenship to a small country where they don't have olympic trials, then iaaf goes by your qualifying time from your other major competitions

I am not understanding what is omar saying is it that he sent in a medical exemption and it was rejected all the other guys when through the same thing that is why we have a trials to select the team so they should be no problem the top three earn their spot.

my thought on this situation of urs i dnt believe u hv been treated fairly.After all u were z only one 2 capture gold 4 Jamaica fews yrs ago when z Jamaica team didn't do so well they cld give u a chance 2 represent ur country after all ths is z defendin champion we r talkin abt pls b reasonable.
