Parshat Bechukotai To Deny Your Pain -The Great Curse.

This week we read Parshat Bechukotai. In the words of the Tochacha the rebuke. We read the words that you will be chased. But no one is there. We analyse this verse and discuss the story of Job. The Talmud discusses when he lived and offers a startling suggestion that he never existed! How can it be that someone can suffer and no one thinks that it’s true? That is the great curse mentioned in the Torah, not to be believed when trying to describe a trauma. We learn that to dismiss a claim or complaint because we can’t believe it possible adds to the trauma of the victim. And we need to be mindful of their claims.
