22-godišnja Annie dolazi kući iz semestara u inozemstvu i šokira roditelje viješću da je upoznala divnog tipa i da su ponovno zaručeni. Tata George teško se nosi s činjenicom da je njegova djevojčica odrasla. Misli da je premlada za udaju, čak i kad ga njegova supruga Nina podsjeti da se do 21. godine udala za njega i bila trudna s Annie. George stavlja svog budućeg zeta na test kako bi bio siguran da je dovoljno dobar, ali glavni fokus ovog remakea je vjenčanje. Angažiran je vrhunski planer vjenčanja Franck i, kako događaj iz dana u dan postaje sve veći, Georgeov se bankovni račun smanjuje.

I hail from South Asia and in our culture it's quite common to react the way George did when he learned his daughter is getting married to a guy she just met! It doesn't really mean the dad is trying to be controlling and territorial but it rather exposes his caring and protective nature. Any father who loves their child would be thrown off a bit and the way she drops the bomb on him right after she comes home is overwhelming so his reaction was normal. He maybe took it too far but he had his reasons. And the daughter seemed way too self-centered but I love this movie. Wish they made more movies like this!

This was a good movie in my opinion . Even though I think that the daughter Annie banks, in this movie failed to understand her father aka Steve Martin . She comes home and tells her father she’s marrying some guy from college, the father hasn’t even met and expects him to accept . I think any father would be taken back in a situation like that. She needs to understand things from his view

It’s not surprising that he reacted when she told him she was getting married . I think any father would, unless there was something wrong with him. How could she possibly expect him to be happy about it . She tells her father having just got home from Rome . Of course he’s upset . It’s reasonable that he reacted like he did any father would . In fact I think her dad aka Steve Martin adapted extremely well more than I think any father would . She needed to understand things from his view point . She wasn’t being fair on her dad just to sit back and accept it . She was very insensitive and unreasonable.
