A wonder of the early 20th Century: the Schwebebahn in Wuppertal. The full name of this suspension railway is "Electric Elevated Railway". It's the oldest electric elevated railway with hanging cars in the world. It is a unique system, designed by Eugen Langen. Built in 1897-1901 this construction still serves as a common public transport system. The 'flying wagons' run for 13.3 kilometres at a height of 8 to 12 meters above the River Wupper between Oberbarmen and Sonnborner Straße. The railway crosses the A46 motorway. The trip takes only 30 minutes. In this clip we follow the complete track from the western terminus at Vohwinkel to the eastern terminus at Oberbarmen.
