Hallo sensei, thanks for the advice. I am going to start to practice it.

Hi Tony, great that you are sharing your experience. I like the fact that you are encouraging students to look outside of the box. I certainly find that Yoga is not only physically helpful, but has made me more mindful. Most aikido students are told to stick with their teacher and it's frowned upon if they dare to attend the class of someone else. I think this is doing our students a terrible disservice as looking around myself has been a huge part of journey and made it much richer.

Thanks again Tony for another great video. When I visit a Dojo in Coventry the Sensei there always starts the lesson with some Yoga. Our instructor in Kettering also practices Yoga and encourages us to also practice it as well.

Couldn’t agree more, Sensei ! I recall how it took me at least 3 days to recover from joint and muscular aches when I first started studying aikido. It doesn’t take so long now and I attribute that largely to combining yoga. It can only help - core, hips, balance, muscular tone and tendon elasticity and breathing off the top of my head..

Very good and I am glad you talk about this, as I have been doing stretching for many years and I have always thought they play an important part in Aikido training. Good video for lots of thoughts!

Thank you Sensei Tony, I am an Aikidoka practitioner myself and I am totally agreeing with you on this. I also have started on my yoga journey recently and have realised many linkages. Loved your analogy of the frozen pocket watch! I love horology and am a watch collector myself. Where did you get it? :)

Peace in aiki,
Ian Teo
