The fact that the producers took half of the episode just to show us how much these two ineffable idiots love each other fills me with so much serotonin ☺

What I love about this is that Crowley had SO many opportunities to make this a less dramatic moment -- he could've miracled the gun into a squirt gun and just walked Aziraphale out, safe and sound, with no need for a bomb. Or not even "walked" out -- Crowley could've yelled from the door, no need to burn his feet at all. Heck, he could've saved the both of them himself with his own miracle. He uses a miracle to save the books, so why would he need Aziraphale to do it?
I'll tell you why. Because this entire thing was a convoluted plan to make him look awesome in front of Aziraphale. He could've saved Aziraphale's life, sure -- but he already did that in the past. What would REALLY get Aziraphale's attention was saving his books. To wait until the last second, when Aziraphale was distraught, to pull the books from the ashes with all the dramatics and flair of a stage magician.
And hey, the goofy plan worked. Dorks, the both of them.
