Which sax do you think is the best in the world? Do you agree with me, or do you have a more definite answer?

My favorite horns are a pair of Amati Kraslice saxes (alto/tenor) that I bought out of a catalog in 1992 for about $600 each. Made in Czechoslovokia when it was still a country, I've never found anything that even comes close to the way they feel.

I agree with you Josh a horn in good playing condition that you play every day is the best sax in the world. I have two Martins Alto and Tenor and I love them both.

A really amazing video indeed, I’m not a tenor player myself but I am Baritone player and I really can say that the horn that goes with me the best are Yamaha horns… I really don’t know why but they really respond better to my style of playing… I’ve played some horns… I’ve played on yanagisawas, selmers… (nothing against selmers, I like how the MKVI baritones sound) but they aren’t my style really… I like Yamahas and for me those are the best horns, I own one of them and I’m really happy with it, will I maybe buy another horn from a different brand ? Maybe… we’ll see

I too have a Lovano Borgani. I have sometimes been unfaithful with Keilwerth, Selmer and Ishimori but always return to my true love. My Borgani is undoubtedly the one for me but maybe not for you as Josh says.

My tenor is a SA80 Serie II which had a wonderful service - the first for ten years - at Crowthers of Canterbury and is now playing amazingly. I can't say what is the best saxophone in the world, but I can agree that getting your horn properly serviced will pay huge dividends

I have owned a Selmer ser 3 for 21years. Tried a bunch of new tenors last week and still prefer my ser 3.

Nice rendition of But Not For Me. Respectfully, any instrument, or anything that is necessary to do a specific purpose, depends solely on the individual. The individual is the one who has to examine every feature that the item has. If the individual is comfortable and feels confident, nothing really matters.

“If it works for you, use it.”- Bruce Lee

The scene at the train station and journey made me think of The Beatles song Magical Mystery Tour.

Your tenors are beautiful and sound great.

Charlie Parker "may" have often had his horn in the pawn shop while he was lookin' for his next fix - but - rumour tells he "always" had his mouthpiece in his pocket.

While I understand there are plenty of great saxes manufactured today. Those of you who were not around to enjoy the 60's and 70's, I understand the constant bashing of the Mark VI and those who are trying to get more than they may be worth. Nevertheless, back in the day some played Conn, others chose the King Super 20, a few had a great Buffet SDA. The Martin, Olds and others were fading by then. Yamaha was just getting started. Thanks to guys like Eugene Rousseau. But those of us who had a VI or an SBA, to us they were the best in the world. Oh, and my VI, I still have the store receipt $689.00 brand new off the shelf. At more than 50 years old it been lots of places and seen better days. But to me, it's still the best sax in the world.

The Borg sax has a very Breathy Tone.
This would be a great jazz instrument, I presume?

(subtle Star Trek joke reference included)

The best saxophone, in the world, for YOU, is the one that you play. Every day.

The question has no answer. How do you like your coffee? whiskey? which car or motorcycle. Is Spring better than Summer? Q: Have you played a Huller? either F.X. or G.H.
