Shisochin (四向戦)
translates as “Shi”, meaning four,
“So”, meaning directions and “Chin”,
meaning battle. As a whole it translates
as “To Battle in Four Directions”.
Is the sixth Kata in the curriculum.

Is a naha-te karate style, is unique for
it’s predominant practice of kaishu waza
(open hand) techniques. It utilizes the
spear hand (yon-hon-nukite) and palm
strikes (teisho uchi). It also endorses the
use of moving in through the distance
and getting to the outside line of an
opponent and attacking with the
forearms and elbows.
A lot of escape and push movements
are emphasised with hip movement.
In addition to pushing techniques to
distance your opponent, this kata
contains close in techniques such
as joint locks and strikes. 🙌
