When summing about point O, you forgot about the ma.t direction. I draw a kinetic FBD along with an inertial FBD and ma.t goes downward so it does not go through point O like ma.n does.

How to determine whether there is rotation occurring in the object ?

Like Moment could be =0 if there was no rotation.

So basically I'm asking how to determine if a body rotates or not ?

Ive a question, if youre not too busy.. at ~9:55 you say that summing the forces about the fixed point (point O) would negate needing to use the third equation 'I*(alpha)+ ma(d)', but then when you took the moment about point G (around the 12:24 mark), you ended up using I*(alpha), not I(alpha) + ma(d). But point G is not a fixed point so why wouldnt you use that equation?

thank you for your consideration
