In confession last week the priest informed me I experienced the illumination of concience. I did! It changed me completely. I am a devout catholic now again... like I was when I was a child. I saw my sins as God sees my sins...I understood completely that if I had died in that moment I would have gone directly to hell. &that it was my choice! I saw my soul as black as night... saturated with sin. I sobbed for hours in true repentance. I immediately got into action... mass everyday... rosary everyday... spiritual reading & videos only... confession.. visit the blessed sacrament often. Thank God! God is good! I wouldn't even care if it happened again when the big illumination happens because it was such a powerful experience for me. It truly changed my life. I had thought I was just fine. I knew I didbt go to church but I figured God would forgive me cuz I wasbasically a good person. I was so wrong! I was stuck in unforgiveness. My heart was hard. I didn't come from a place of love! That all changed that day!

Covid has been a great time of reflection. Despite the hardship, I'm grateful that more attention has been given to God during these times.

I experienced such an illumination of conscience in Medjugorje on Sunday night the 5th of October 1997. On top of the Mountain with the radio tower on it next to Mt Krizevac whilst hiking.

Afterwards I knew that I had to go to confession asap which I did for the first time the next day.
Interesting as I was 29, agnostic and had not come to Medjugorje knowing or seeking God. There is so much more that I experienced there that I wish I could share properly with you. It change my life.
Dr Ralph Martin is so right that we must not waste a moment and start now to put the Lord first in our lives.

I was at Medjugorge in the summer of 1987.
My response to any of the questions about its validity is that no matter what any final decision is made, there were many supernatural things happening there and most of it was in the packed Masses said in many languages and the incredibly long lines for confession in the field next to the Church just like Ralph mentioned.
100s of people everyday were lined up.
THAT was amazing and it brought great solace and joy that so many were making sure to avail themselves of the beautiful sacraments.

Coming up to the 10 year anniversary of my conversion at Mary’s home in Ephesus, Turkey where I received a new heart and a new spirit (Ezekiel 36:26). It was a complete gift from Jesus, through Mary, when I asked for her help on October 10, 2011.

Me too!! Lifelong Catholic but when I had that illumination of conscience many many years ago, my love for Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit had grown so huge within me. I am still singing God’s goodness everywhere I am sharing to people that God is real and Jesus is alive!! The Holy Spirit leads and loves and make all things new. Blessed be God forever!!! I was away from the church and someone gave me a book about Medgegorje and as soon as I started reading it, I had an intense feeling of Mary’s presence and I heard (interiorly) her say “All of the teachings of the Catholic Church are true.” She didn’t say “this book is true” or “yes I’m really appearing at Megegorje” but I was converted and have been pretty much mostly only interested in learning the scriptural basis for all the Church teaches. I hope the visions there are real but my faith does not hinge on it at all.

Very nice explanation of the Illumination of Conscience. I agree that this will be an extraordinary grace and I'm looking forward to a deeper, closer union with God. I've asked God many times, "just tell me what you want and I'll do it." Your reference to Lazarus is perfect. He HAS told us through His prophets and His Word. I pray that those who have hardened their hearts will be open to this singular grace and be moved to convert their lives. Humanity needs this! Thank you for bringing solid Catholic teaching to bear on extraordinary prophesies.
