Thanks, Brian! Hearing from an engineer is refreshing.

I would have thought the Corvair would understeer because of the light front end, but a short internet search confirmed that it does indeed oversteer because of rear end geometry.
Man... I wish I was 10% as smart as this guy. What a beautiful conversion.
For a Mechanical Engineer he makes a darn good schematic. Schematics are art and communication, as opposed to a wiring diagram which is just "what is connected to what"
Fantastic presentation!

These are the kind of EVs that might win over some who are on the fence about EVs.

As this hobby has grown, there seems to be more kits popping up for all kinds of older vehicle conversions.

Out-of-Spec has a whole channel just for conversion of older ICE to EVs.

Hi Brian, you know I watch a lot of YouTube’s. This is by far my favorite because my brother his oldest daughter and I were looking at doing the same conversion to an old Fiat. Dad left us when he passed away. Well she’s 13 and lost interest and we looked at the frame Center there’s no way it’s a fiat the Highlander, but we did a lot of research on doing the project😊

I would like to do a conversion like this. The only thing stopping me is time, money, and garage space haha.

I love the look of the Corvair (my dad had one in the early 70s). 69-70 muscle cars are also awesome. But no way I would take those on my daily freeway commute.

There are a lot of reasons to choose the LFP battery, especially if like this guy, you're not obsessed with performance.

This is a timely video for me. My thoughts have been leaning towards doing an EV conversion.

Hope he fixed the non-collapsable steering wheel.

i dont think there was ever a problem with the corvair, ralph nader just wanted to kill something to get his name known. the corvair was the last time GM ever tried anything interesting
