So About That Summer Game Fest Show

Summer Game Fest just wrapped up and today I wanted to share some of my immediate thoughts on the showcase and the big games that were announced.

The main positive is that lots of gameplay was shown. But there was lots of filler, indies and mobile game (Nothing wrong but nothing to be exciting). No real big surprise reveals. And the best trailers were from games we know about. The worst parts are obviously the Ads and TV shows for a nearly 2 hour show

VII Rebirth coming on 2 discs is a major win in my opinion. Square-Enix is showing EA and Activision how it’s done!

RGT was far more negative than you. Honestly this was far better than the PS showcase. Sonic Superstars really caught me off guard and will likely be a purchase for me down the road

I thought it was surprisingly great compared to what we usually get from a Keighley show, and it was much better than this year’s PlayStation Showcase.

We knew Venom would be Harry from the ending of the first game.

I don’t know why they are trying to be secretive about Venom. It’s pretty clear that Harry Osborne is Venom if you watch the scene after the credits in the first game.

New 2D Sonic didn't give me a Sonic 4 vibe at all. You can tell they were going for the Sonic Mania momentum physics instead of whatever they went with in Sonic 4.

I think Venom is Harry. I don’t think it’ll be Connors but imagine the Lizard having the Venom symbiote? That’d be cool but probably better fit for comics.

It could be Kraven but I hope not. He’s all about the raw natural strength

I just realized that number of development years means nothing. We should speak in worker's years. For exemple Hollow Knight took 3 years with about 20 peoples involved that makes 60 worker's years, while Breath of the Wild took 4 years with about 300 peoples, 1200 worker's years !!!
Worker's years gives a pretty good relative scales of those projects 😮
