Definitely a high risk high reward player. I feel like he's a bit of a reach at 5 but it's hard not to like the package.

you can tell he grew up watching a lot of William Nylander, which yet again makes me feel old . So many guys try squeak past defenders fighting force on force in order to get enough leverage to get around the corner. What makes guys 'slippery' is when they have the instincts to skate their hips away from the defenders applied pressure until the D is over their toes and trying to grab a fist full of air.

Sennecke kind of reminds me of a taller Connor Garland. Slippery dude who is great against the boards and threads some lethal passes. I wonder though how it will translate in the NHL where guys will punish him more when trying to go one on one.

Turns out he went third. The kid looks good! If he played as good the first two thirds of the season as he did that last third he probably would have been considered a consensus top five pick anyway.

Detroit has to score big in this draft on gaining a winger with great play making ability. Sennecke is still in the process of being gangly but should be developing.
Sure looks like a line driver for a right handed RW.
