Closing arguments are set to begin in the federal hate crimes trial of the three men convicted of killing Ahmaud Arbery nearly two years since he was killed while running near his home in Brunswick, Georgia. NBC News’ Blayne Alexander and Danny Cevallos break down where the trial stands going into closing arguments and why none of the men took the stand in their own defense.

While Amaud lay dying, they called him the "N" word. Do the crime, do the time.

The defense states that Greg called the police on a white man who lived under the bridge because he looked "sketchy ". They did not chase him down with guns and pick up trucks as if it was the pre-Civil Rights days.

I would think that hurts the defense since they did not call the police on Ahmaud but rather hunted him down.

I would also think it would hurt their case since Ahmaud wasn't homeless living under a bridge. But they thought he was suspicious because of his appearance, which his skin color is the only difference.

This whole situation is a tragedy and completely unnecessary. May Ahmaud 's family be comforted during this difficult time!
