As a Nigerian British girl doing Alevel Art myself, I can't tell you how much your channel means to me. There is nowhere near enough representation of dark skin or any skin that isn't white for than matter in portraiture in both the artists we look at and the people they draw. When I initially wanted to paint dark skin the tutorials were scarce and its artists like you that have given me the guidance and confidence to be able to draw myself and others who look like us. Thank you so much! ❤

I thought everyone would get that people tend to draw people who look like them-

"Because I want to" is honestly the only reason one needs for why they draw anything and if anyone don't like it, tough toenails.

dark skin is extremely hard to draw I'm personally practicing on it so you're extremely talented to be able to draw like that

As a Nigerian girl who loves to do art, seeing someone who looks like me drawing makes me feel so happy!
Keep representing!

OMG THE TWO BROWN SHADES GAVE ME ANGER FLASHBACKS AND IM PASTY WONDERBREAD WHITE! My friends and I always got pissed every time a makeup company came out with a new “50 shades of tapioca” foundation line acting like we were all supposed to be impressed.

I can’t believe this even needs to be a video. So sad. But good job addressing it!

I’ve seen a few artists accused of not drawing enough dark skin tones (even with portfolios full of variety) but I never expected to see someone accused of doing too many!

I agree it’s harder to color darker skin, and it’s hard to find tutorials or decent marker skin tone sets. So channels like yours fill that gap beautifully and I’m glad you do what you do!

Why do you draw black people? “Because I’m black, because I want to, because why not?” TELL EM GURL! You didn’t deserve that snobby comment. Omg, you’re almost at 70k!!! Remember me when your famous 😭

I actually enjoy when you draw people with dark skin because I'm brown and it's nice to see someone drawing the same skin color as you. (I'm asian)

There is a lot of white channels to follow tf they draw only fair skin and yet people don't complain. I don't even care because I follow them too but can we have at least someone who draws just dark skin people dang can't have nothing these days lol. Keep it up you help me a lot on how to approach my art.

That was a stupid question for someone to ask, sorry not sorry. It is much easier to find light skin tutorials. That's one of the main reasons you are one of my go-to YouTubers, you are showing us something that is seen less frequently in the mainstream art world.

Who cares about skin tone. Your art is beautiful. That's all that counts. Actually no... beauty is overrated. Your art is sincere and a representation of how you see the world. That's more important and something I admire above all else. Sincerity in art is rare. Don't let anyone make you feel attacked for being sincere. It's the only thing in the world that matters.

Please, please drop tutorials on from light skin to dark dark shades of brown skin. Because I would love to learn how to do it. Even tho I am a digital artist. Thanks for inspiring me again.

I'm asian but i like drawing people of all colors, mainly because i like it when my art is diverse. I only drew REALLY REALLY pale people in the past because i was using low quality colored pencils that made dark skin look too textured when i leayered them, and i was surrounded by light skinned people. I really struggle with drawing natural hair, i don't understand how hairlines work and i need to practice on that.
I have amost never drawn a woman with a hijab though, despite the fact that i wear one and i don't know why. I guess it's because my (also muslim) friends found it weird when i drew one and i never tried it again.

She actually proved a point. To be honest I kinda thought the same thing, why does she only color black skin? But then I took step back and realized that most artists draw/color people with the same or familiar skin tones. So, honestly, im not suprised she colors black skin. Plus, I think coloring darker skin can be harder, so it just shows her talent. But then, who really cares? She does an amazing job. Great job Temi!
