I love how the commentators go wild when they score a goal but if a keeper does a top corner 90 minute save when it is 1-1 they go like: even i can do that

I was a goalkeeper for 12 years let me tell you was the best and worst time of my life. what I mean by that is the feeling you get when you make what people think is a impossible save there’s nothing like it. But the other side of it when you let an easy goal or any goal for that matter in it really hurts at least for me it did you start thinking you let the team down or you start thinking everyone angry at you. The best advice I got when playing is there are 10 people in front of you the ball got past all them first. Now going past all that to be a good goalkeeper you can’t be scared of getting hurt or hurting someone if it comes to it and being loud remember it’s your job to save the ball but also to help your team. Your the last person on your team but that means you see the whole field you have to be able to scream directions pretty much telling your team mates what to do example telling your defenders to push up the field or teaming them there’s a opposition player behind them ect. Now the hardest part is injuries over my 12 year career both my knees and my back now need surgery and I have broke, fractured or dislocated every finger on both hands and had plenty hits to my head. But what made all that worth it is the memories and best friends I made along the way I was lucky enough that I played with the same people for all 12 years so they are pretty much my second family people ask me knowing all the injuries you got would you do it again and I always say you damn right I would do it again
